Blanche
Blanche is a 9 year old senior lab whose owner dumped her at the shelter just before Christmas. As you can imagine, her world was turned upside down and she became very unhappy and depressed.
The shelter manager thought that there were no real options for her and wanted to euthanize her but another employee stepped in and begged for her to be able to stay longer. She started making it a point to spend as much time as possible with Blanche and even took her home a couple of nights. We wanted to help but there was just no room due to the holidays to bring her in, so she was there for over a month.
We were lucky to find a great foster who was patient and gave her time to settle in. Blanche is looking for her next lifelong companion. She did very well in playgroups while in boarding and was around kids while at the shelter, but we think she would do best in a peaceful home where her owner has plenty of time to hang out with her and become best friends.
