Tripp

Labrador Retriever - Young - Male
Adopted Medium Spayed/NeuteredUp-to-date with routine shotshousetrained

FROM THE FOSTER

Tripp is such an amazing dog. We take him absolutely everywhere and we have never had a single problem with him. He goes to the dog park almost daily and he is super well behaved. He goes out to dog friendly restaurants and he is a gentleman. He goes to large events with crowds and dogs and we’ve never had the slightest issue.

At home he is house trained and goes willingly into his crate (although he really does not need it). He has not destroyed a SINGLE thing in our house! He gets and A+ on the leash. He has not had any issues with any dog we have had him around, although he really prefers the company of people. He is a world class snuggler…I mean, what is not to love about this dog?!? He is practically the perfect companion. Everyone who meets him falls in love with him (kids even draw him pictures at the park!!).

FROM THE FOSTER

He’s such a great dog. Easy going, quiet, potty trained, crate trained. He’s not food aggressive, he shares everything just fine. He doesn’t really care for toys or playing with other dogs. But he does loves going to the dog park. It’s not the dog part he loves, its the people. He’s still very polite to the other dogs, but he’s more interested in the people.

He sits up on the tables or benches with the people just like he’s one of them. There’s a group of old retired men that meet every morning and they are his favorite people. He goes crazy for them, but he couldn’t care less about their dogs.

He’s so good with people that we’ve started taking him as many places as we can. Super well behaved and an awesome companion. I hope he finds a home soon. Not because we don’t want him here, but because he’s such a good boy and he deserves it.

FROM THE FOSTER

We’ve had Tripp for about a week and he’s an excellent dog. I can’t believe he hasn’t been adopted. In fact, I can’t believe he ever ended up in a shelter.

I can tell you he is fully potty trained and crate trained. He freely goes into his crate and doesn’t mind being in there. I completely trust him outside of the crate as well. When we’re running errands, we let him run loose in the house with zero problems. He has not destroyed anything. He gets an A+ for walking on a leash. And he doesn’t show any toy or food aggression. He is incredibly quiet. And a little shy and nervous with big noises, but there is no bad behavior associated with it. He’s practically perfect, except he doesnt know any commands. He’s not really interested in playing with other dogs or toys. He’s a pretty low energy level and would probably do well in any situation. He hasn’t been around kids, but I don’t think it would be a problem.

ORIGINAL POST:
Tripp is a 50 pound 2-3 year old lab mix that was picked up by a shelter near TN. He is sweet and well behaved, but he seems to lack trust, probably from some previous abuse. Our trainer is working with him to build confidence so he will be a wonderful companion.

If you would be interested in fostering Tripp after the training is complete, it would help him out and also teach you some great leadership skills by being under the tutelage of a professional. If you would like to help or learn more, please email info@atlantalabrescue.com
